Job Summary
Ball Systems is hiring an Electronics Assembly Technician to build advanced custom test equipment, prototype fixtures, and rack-mount test cabinets for customers in avionics, military/defense, and medical equipment industries. In this role, you'll work hands-on alongside a Project Engineer or Project Manager to assemble, wire, modify, and test electromechanical systems from drawings, schematics, and customer specifications.
This is a strong fit for an experienced electronics technician, electromechanical assembler, or test equipment builder who enjoys variety, takes pride in clean workmanship, and thrives in a custom-build environment where no two projects look alike. If you've spent your career reading schematics, crimping connectors, building harnesses, and bringing one-off systems to life, we want to talk to you.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform electrical and mechanical assembly of custom prototype fixtures and various styles of test equipmentRequired Qualifications
Experience: Ideally 5–10 years in electronics assembly, electromechanical assembly, or a related technical rolePreferred Qualifications
IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001) for soldering and cable/harness workmanshipSkills and Attributes

You enjoy variety, you're comfortable picking up a new fixture or interconnect system you haven't worked with before, and you take ownership of the quality of every assembly that leaves your bench. You communicate clearly with your assigned engineer, ask the right questions before cutting or drilling, and work cleanly and methodically.
You're a team player who shares knowledge with your peers, supports tight project schedules, and takes pride in seeing custom test equipment go out the door working exactly as designed.
