James brings a builder's curiosity to Ball Systems' quoting team. He comes from years on the purchasing side of manufacturing and service businesses: issuing RFQs, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory, and working with plant and project managers to get the right parts in place on schedule. That background gives him a head start on the questions every good quote has to answer: what it takes to source a component, what it will cost, and how long it will take to arrive. He's also an early adopter of new technology, including AI, and is always looking for tools that make the work faster and more accurate.
James comes by his mechanical mindset honestly, since his dad was a mechanic and machinist. He wants to understand how things work and how they could work better. If something breaks, whether it's in his car or his house, his first move is to diagnose it and fix it himself.
Fun facts: James has built and remodeled cars from the frame up. He also loves the outdoors, so when he isn't at work, there's a good chance he's camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking, or out on a boat.
Outside of work: James is a hands-on tinkerer. He works on cars and mods old video game consoles. He also designs and builds his own computers and servers, down to researching and choosing each component. When he's not in the garage or at his workbench, he's catching as many concerts as he can with his better half.
