Extended Handheld Download Unit (EHHDLU) test kits are used in the aerospace industry to test aircraft flight recorders, more commonly known as “black boxes.” Ball Systems produces ground support equipment (GSE) to the manufacturer of the flight recorders.

This GSE is then provided to aircraft owners and operators for subsystem maintenance, upgrades, verification, and data download/interrogation. All test units are produced consistent with tight customer specifications, and are rigorously tested to ensure full functionality prior to shipment.
